Beginners Welcome The Wailua River Valley was once reserved for the Ali’i (Royalty). Wailua is a very special and sacred area to the Hawaiian people. Your “local Guide” will take you back to ancient times with an informative narration, sharing with you the rich Hawaiian history and legends of the our ancestors. You will paddle up the river’s North Fork where you will start your short hike through a tropical rainforest. This sacred valley is lined with scenic waterways and cascades great for a refreshing dip. You will be guided to the beautiful 120-foot, Uluwehi Falls (a.k.a. Secret Falls). There you will enjoy a Local Style lunch. This is an adventure the entire family can enjoy! When and Where: Daily except Sundays. Check In Times: 8:20am, 9:30am, 10:40am, or 11:50am. Our office is located in the Harbor Mall on Rice Street near Kalapaki Beach across from the Kaua’i Marriott. Reservations are required. Includes: Kayak and equipment, dry bag, walking sticks, Local Style lunch, fresh pineapple, cookies, cold juice and water. We will also show you our instructional/safety video while being transferred "First Class" to the Wailua River. Plus you get a complimentary picture CD with over 100 shots of the Wailua area and some great waterfall pictures from your tour location. What to bring: Water friendly shoes (no flip-flops), swimsuit, towels, sunscreen, hat, bug repellent, and change of clothes for afterwards. What to expect: Approximately 4 miles of easy kayaking, about 1.5 miles of moderate hiking. Tour duration is approximately 4.5 hours. Physical Requirements: Participants should be comfortable around water and enjoy hiking. No pregnancies, bad backs or bad knees.
A one-hour escorted tour to the Kalapaki bay fronting the beautiful Kaua’i Marriott. A leisure paddle which will include instruction, an opportunity to see green sea turtles up close, area history, and wave riding (conditions permitting). When and Where: Daily except Sundays. Please call for reservations and availability. Our office is located in the Harbor Mall on Rice Street near Kalapaki Beach across from the Kaua’i Marriott. Includes: Kayak and equipment, dry bags. What to bring: Swimsuit, towels, sunscreen, hat, and camera. Physical Requirements: Participants should be comfortable around water. No pregnancies or bad backs.
KAYAK RENTALS Kayak rentals are available from our office for the Kalapaki Bay and Hulei'a River only. We do not rent for the Wailua River. Please call for more information.
Book a Waterfall Picnic Tour with Ali’i Kayaks and save $100.00 per couple on a Deluxe Helicopter Tour. The helicopter tour will include many famous areas that have made the "Garden Island" a favorite location for Hollywood. You will see the lush valleys of Mt. Wai’ale’ale dotted with waterfalls, colorful and intricate Waimea Canyon and the impenetrable Na Pali coast known for its towering razor sharp cliffs and secluded beaches and much more. When And Where: Helicopter flights are daily. Tour check-in is 40 minutes prior to scheduled flight time. Directions and tickets for the helicopter tour will be available for pick-up at the Ali’i Kayaks. Advance reservations are required. Includes: Deluxe Helicopter Tour of Kaua’i. Tour duration is approximately 60 minutes.
What to bring: Camera and dark clothes are recommended. Prices are per person and include taxes and fees. Book a Waterfall Picnic tour with Ali’i Kayaks and attend the Smith’s Family Garden Luau and save up to $50 per couple. Located along the Wailua River is the beautiful Smith’s Tropical Paradise where you will enjoy a tour around the lush 30-acre garden. The imu ceremony begins shortly after where you will see the Hawaiian cooking method called Kalua. Cocktails and music and of course an excellent luau feast where you will enjoy traditional flavors and island favorites. The Rhythm of Aloha Show will follow in the spacious open-air, torch-lit "Pele Amphitheater" (complete with erupting volcano!).
